A categorical listing is a category-based directory of websites. We
provide a rich, detailed set of categories to help you find the kind of
website you are seeking. You simply navigate through the 'tree' until
you find the site you're looking for. This is best when your looking for a
site "generally about" something, such as "a business opportunity", or
"photographic art", but don't have specifics in mind.
Coming in Fall of 2004: A content search is a search system based on the
literal text on the website. You are searching for specific words or
phrases, and are looking for specific things on the website. |
A descriptive search allows you to locate website information based on
either the URL (the web name) of the site, or the description they provided
for the category system.
Coming in Winter 2004/2005: A VariSearch combines Descriptive and Content
searches into an intelligent, interactive search.
This is a search engine with a 'wizard' style interface, which will ask
you to clarify your terms as you proceed.
The objective of a VariSearch is to reduce your result set to a list of
under 50 extremely relevant sites. |
